Frequently asked questions
Everything students and parents ask about Sage.
It depends on how the tool is built. Sage is designed as a tutor, not an answer machine. You attempt each step before the answer reveals, so the thinking stays yours. Copying an answer you never tried to earn is cheating. Being guided through a problem you actually wrestled with is learning.
Sage breaks every problem into steps and asks you to try each one first. When you get stuck, it explains the piece you missed instead of jumping straight to the solution. You can ask follow-up questions at any step, so you understand the why behind the answer and not just the what.
Sage covers 20 subjects across six areas. In Math that is Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Statistics. In Science it is Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Science. It also covers History, Geography, Economics, Government, Writing, Literature, Grammar, Computer Science, Business, and Accounting.
Yes. You can start solving problems for free with no credit card required. Paid plans unlock more credits, the full Writing Lab, and team features for adults guiding students.
A timer runs while you solve, and attempt-first rules mean you have to try each step before the answer appears. They exist because copying an answer teaches you nothing. The friction is the point. It is what makes the learning stick instead of fading after the test.
Yes. Sage works on your phone and your computer. You can snap a photo of your homework from your phone and solve it on the go, or sit down at a laptop for a longer study session.
Your solved problems are saved to your account so you can revisit them anytime. Uploaded files are automatically cleaned up after 24 hours, and only you can see your own progress and history.
Yes. You can manage or cancel your plan from Settings at any time. There are no lock-in contracts, and you keep access until the end of your billing period.
Yes. The Team plan is built for adults guiding students. Admins get a dashboard showing each member’s progress across every subject, and members are read-only so only admins can manage the roster.
