3. AI Processing and OpenAI

When you submit prompts, images, or files, Sage sends relevant content and instructions to OpenAI to generate a response. OpenAI acts as a service provider or processor for this functionality, subject to the product configuration and contract Sage uses.

Do not upload highly sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your educational request. Avoid uploading government identification numbers, financial account information, medical records, private legal files, or another person's confidential information.

Sage does not currently use identifiable User Content to train its own general-purpose AI models. We will update this Policy and obtain consent where required before materially changing that practice.

4. Retention

  • Basic plan AI content and history: deleted or de-identified after approximately 24 hours, unless retained longer for security, legal, or troubleshooting reasons clearly disclosed to the user.
  • Paid plan AI content and history: retained while the account remains active or until the user deletes the content, subject to operational and legal limits.
  • Deleted accounts: targeted for deletion from active systems within 30 days and from encrypted backups within 90 days.
  • Billing, tax, fraud, dispute, security, and legal records: retained as reasonably necessary to meet legal and operational obligations.
  • De-identified or aggregated information: may be retained where it can no longer reasonably identify a person.

5. How We Disclose Information

Service providers

We disclose information to providers that help operate Sage, including Base44, OpenAI, Stripe, hosting, database, authentication, security, analytics, communications, customer support, and professional advisers.

Advertising and measurement

Sage may use Google, Meta, or similar platforms to measure and improve advertising for the public marketing site. These platforms may receive cookies, device identifiers, IP-derived information, conversion events, and public-site activity where permitted.

Sage should not knowingly use student learning content, private prompts, uploaded homework, or authenticated in-app activity for cross-site behavioral advertising. Sage should also avoid knowingly tracking minors for behavioral advertising.

Legal and safety

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce agreements, investigate fraud or abuse, protect safety, or defend legal rights.

Business transfers

Information may be transferred in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

With consent

We may disclose information for another purpose with your direction or consent.

Sage does not sell personal information for money.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Sage uses necessary cookies for login, security, preferences, and core functionality. We may later use analytics and advertising technologies on the public website. Where required, Sage will request consent before activating non-essential cookies.

You can control cookies through the Sage consent tool, where available, and through browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent the Service from functioning.

7. Marketing Communications

Sage may send marketing messages where permitted by law. You may unsubscribe using the link in the message or by contacting sage.expert@gmail.com. Transactional and security messages may continue even after you opt out of marketing.

For Canadian recipients, Sage will obtain and document consent where required, identify the sender, provide contact information, and include a functioning unsubscribe mechanism.

8. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may request to:

  • access or receive a copy of your personal information;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • delete your account or certain personal information;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
  • object to or limit certain processing;
  • opt out of marketing communications;
  • ask questions or file a privacy complaint.

Submit requests through account settings or email sage.expert@gmail.com. Sage may verify identity before completing a request. Some information may be retained where required for billing, fraud prevention, security, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.

9. Teen Privacy

Sage is designed for users age 13 and older. We aim to explain privacy practices in language appropriate for teenagers and limit collection to information reasonably needed for the Service.

A parent or guardian may contact sage.expert@gmail.com to raise concerns or request deletion of a minor's information. Sage may verify the requester's identity and relationship to the user.

If Sage learns that personal information was collected from a child under 13 without legally valid authorization, Sage will suspend or close the account and delete the information, subject to narrow legal and security exceptions.

10. School and Team Accounts

If a school, district, teacher, employer, or organization provides access to Sage, that organization may control the account or act as the responsible organization for certain information. Additional agreements may govern those accounts.

Sage will not rely solely on this consumer Privacy Policy for school deployments involving student records. A separate school agreement and data processing addendum should be completed before institutional use.

11. Security

Sage uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Users should use a strong password, protect their devices, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access.

12. International Processing

Sage serves users in the United States and Canada. Information may be processed in the United States or other countries where Sage's providers operate. Those countries may have different privacy laws. Sage uses contractual and operational protections where required.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy as the Service, vendors, or law changes. We will post the updated version and revise the effective date. Material changes will receive additional notice where appropriate.
